CDL drivers who apply to a carrier and have less than 1 years' worth of commercial driving experience must be given entry-level driver training in four areas: driver qualification, hours of service, driver wellness, and whistleblower protections. Upon successful completion of that training, drivers must be issued a training certificate, a copy of which should be retained in their driver files.
