Carriers must maintain an accident register that lists all “DOT recordable accidents” occurring within the prior 3 years. A “DOT recordable accident” is one that involves (i) a fatality; (ii) bodily injury to a person who, as a result of the injury, immediately receives medical treatment away from the scene; or (iii) disabling damage to any vehicle that requires that motor vehicle to be towed away from the scene. This document is intended to satisfy this requirement.
